As of today, people across the nation are being encouraged to nominate key workers and local community heroes that go the extra mile to receive a fuel voucher.
The giveaway is being launched by UK top ten car dealer, Big Motoring World who wanted to help ease the financial burden of rising fuel prices for hard-working Brits who are struggling to get by.
The group’s CEO, Peter Waddell, was sleeping rough on the streets for many years before building the Big Motoring brand over more than three decades – so he has experienced first-hand how difficult life can be and how important it is to give back and help others when possible.
Increasing costs of living are a particularly hot topic, with tens of thousands of people (137,000) turning to Google in the last month for information on the latest ‘fuel prices’ alone1.
According to the RAC’s Fuel Watch index2, the cost of Petrol is up 74% since June 2020 (from 101.11p per litre to 186.59p) and it’s up 72% for Diesel (from 112.07p per litre to 192.48p).
Anton Khan, Chief Operating Officer at Big Motoring World explained: “It is an undeniably difficult and expensive time for many people. We wanted to do something to help, and so are launching this giveaway with the particular intention of giving back to those who consistently go the extra mile and deserve a little extra ‘thank you’.
You may want to nominate someone working in retail, a social worker, a nurse, doctor, delivery driver or teacher. Or perhaps someone who works in the Police force or Fire service.
Alternatively, there may just be someone in your community who always tries to look after their neighbourhood and the people living in it.”
Nominating someone to win one of these two fuel voucher prizes is free and easy to do via the dedicated entry form.
Those making a nomination are encouraged to share some information on the key worker or local community hero who they believe is particularly deserving, and the reason(s) why.
Entry closes on Monday 25th July 2022.
Judges from Big Motoring World will be reviewing all entries personally. A shortlist of finalists will be contacted and then revealed publicly on Tuesday 2nd August 2022.
A poll will then be opened, enabling the general public to vote for a winner and a runner up. The winner and runner up will receive their vouchers before the end of August.
